PathoKey SQ FLEX Pathogen ID Assay

Qualitative Detection of Pathogens from Complex Microbiome Samples

PURPOSE

PathoKey SQ FLEX Pathogen ID Assay

The PathoKey SQ FLEX Pathogen ID Assay (4x24) is a next generation sequencing-based test that provides comprehensive and robust profiling of bacterial, fungal, eukaryotic communities and viruses—from sources such as gut microbiome, contaminated food and clinical samples respectively.

It has the flexibility to interrogate any combination of bacterial 16S hypervariable regions (V1-V2 and V3-V5), and rpoB regions, fungal hypervariable regions (ITS1 and ITS2), and 28S region (D2), and eukaryotic community 18S hypervariable regions (V3 and V8-V9), and 28S region (D2). In addition, the assay detects up to 10 viruses and 32 AMR genes.

This test is intended to be used in conjunction with the Sentosa SX Lysis Plate Type B (10x24) and Sentosa SX U-Prep Kit (4) on Sentosa SX101, and Ion PGM Hi-Q View OT2 Kit and Sentosa ST Template Beads (8) on Sentosa ST401, Ion PGM Hi-Q View Sequencing Kit (with Ion PGM Wash 2 Bottle Kit) and Sentosa SQ 318 Chip Kit (8) on the Sentosa SQ301 instrument as well as Sentosa SQ Reporter.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Unparalleled Versatility

  • 5 panels to choose from:  bacteria, fungi, parasites, viruses and genotypic antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
  • Amplicon sequencing allows for identification of up to 4 groups in one run

Comprehensive Detection

  • Compares all detected pathogens to a database of >500,000 known sequences
  • Relative abundances are reported, allowing for differentiation of commensals or environmental contamination vs pathogenic microbes

Maximizing Laboratory Efficiency

  • No need to spend extended periods of time culturing samples
  • Sample-to-results in 2 days, with less than 2 hours of hands-on-time
  • Highly automated NGS workflow that is easy to adopt, with automated data analysis and report generation with Sentosa SQ Reporter
