Dr Wai Jin Tan is the Head of Operations at Vela Diagnostics Singapore, leading industrial manufacturing processes and the production of IVD kits.

Dr Tan joined Vela Diagnostics in 2016 as a Process Development Scientist, and was promoted to lead the team within the year. Having a comprehensive view of the manufacturing processes during her time as a Process Development Lead, she was then tasked to provide leadership to the Manufacturing team, rising to the current role of Head of Operations. Prior to joining Vela Diagnostics, Dr Tan worked at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, A*STAR.

Dr Tan obtained her PhD from the National University of Singapore in the field of cancer biology. She published extensively during her training and developed the first diagnostics kit to classify a specific type of breast tumor.
