Sentosa SX Whole Blood Kit

Magnetic beads-based nucleic acid extraction from whole blood samples

PRINCIPLES AND PROCEDURES

The Sentosa SX Whole Blood Kit uses magnetic beads-based technology to extract viral nucleic acid and genomic DNA. The extraction procedure comprises of 4 steps: lyse, bind, wash, and elute. At the binding step, the nucleic acid binds to the beads under appropriate buffer conditions. The impurities are removed by washing with washing buffers. The nucleic acid is eluted with a low-salt elution buffer. The extraction procedure is automated on the Sentosa SX101 instrument. The protocols support 8 tests/run, 16 tests/run, 24 tests/run and 32 tests/run for the 4x8 pack size and 24 tests/run and 48 tests/run for the 4x24 pack size.
